Bucket Filling

Today we learned all about how to fill each other's emotional bucket with the little and big things that we do for others. The tamariki made beautiful little messages for each other to fill their friends' imaginary buckets. Later in the day they reflected upon what they had done during the day to help fill another person's bucket. Here is the story that we all read together.

Here are a few amazing bucket filling reflections:
MJ and Nikau filled their friends' buckets.

Trisanah filled her friends' bucket today too.

  1. Kia ora Te Ara Whakatau.
Filling each others buckets is such a good thing to do. I love that it is a great way to show our Fish! Philosophy values, especially Make Someone's Day. I am looking forward to hearing about the kindness that you will all be sharing. Ka mau te wehi!

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
