Hi. Our class is called Auaha and in our class we have 21 students in our class. We made a treaty and we used coffee and teabags to make it look old. You can see the treaty behind us in the photo.

  1. Kia ora Auaha. We like you photo. We like your name too. We had to look up what it meant. Cool! We know some of the people in your class. How did you make the treaty go on the board? How did you use the tea bags. Nā Rūma 4:-)

    1. Thank you for your comment. We glued the treaty onto black paper and use a staple gun to attach the treaty to the wall. We used wet teabags and we wiped them over the paper then we sprinkled coffee - Mrs Ryan loves coffee! Have you created a treaty.

  2. Kia ora Auaha,
Your treaty looks great, as do the fabulous akonga who created it! Do you know that some people say that Captain Hobson was wearing his pyjamas when he took the Treaty of Waitangi to the Maori Chiefs for them to sign... I wonder if Ms Ryan was wearing hers when you signed this?

    1. We laughed and we laughed and we laughed as we imagined Mrs Ryan wearing pyjamas to school...

  3. Kia ora Auaha. What a great idea, using tea bags to make it look old like other treaty's. Why have you set up a treaty? What is the purpose for this?

  4. We made a treaty because we wanted to agree on how we would all work together.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
