Duffy Theatre 2019!

On Friday we were lucky enough to have the Duffy Theatre show come to our school. We love the Duffy theatre show and it is definitely a highlight of term 1 each year. Everybody could see and hear that we enjoyed the show from all the laughter and smiles on our faces. In the show Duffy got stuck in a video game and his cousin had to help him escape. They worked together and found out through reading their Nana's notes that they could return to their real lives! I love how Duffy always reminds us about the importance of reading and the power that it gives us. The show was very interactive this year and you can see in the photos below that some lucky students had to get up and help Duffy to unscramble a word. In another photo you will see MJ trying to help Duffy to steal the Destroyer's cone! We can't wait till next year!

  1. It was a great show! It made me laugh and smile the entire show. I love being a Duffy school and it is super important to remember it's cool to read! What is a favourite book of yours? Mine is any by Roald Dahl or the Judy Blume Series.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
