Holy working on her Poppy

Ava was working hard this morning, writing an Anzac poem and making an Anzac poster. Holy, Ava's sister wanted to follow Ava and made her own poppy. I think Ava was being a big sister and a role model to Holy. I was very impressed with the ideas you came up for writing your Anzac acrostic poem, Ava. Awesome work, Ava!

  2. Very busy ANZAC day in your house! Nice to see Holly's smiling face joining in with your amazing work :-) You look like you're wearing a very pretty dress Ava. I hope your poppies are sitting beautifully for everyone to see! Your poem is also very thoughtful, great work!

  4. Wow Ava! You certainly have been working hard on your ANZAC activities. I really like your poem and the poster with the poppies you drew. It makes me smile to see Holly learning with you too, Ava. Well done to both of you girls.

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
