Bula from Mei and Natania

Mei and Natania have been busy in their bubble. Natania has been learning to play the ukelele and has jam sessions with her dad on the guitar. Mei and Mum as vocalists and their little brother and sister as the dancers.
They have also been going on bike rides and bear hunting in the early morning around their neighbourhood.
They are  both enjoying going on Maths Buddy and Sunshine Classics too!
Check out the pictures to see their latest learning where they focussed on the Anzac topic work.
Vinaka vaka levu for sharing your work with us girls!

  1. Wow you girls have been so incredibly busy, amazing work! I love that you are learning an instrument and making a band that is so cool! I tried to learn the ukulele and I found it very tricky so good on you! It is great that you are going out and looking for bears, I wonder how many you could see? Your writing is really awesome too girls, keep up the great work!

  2. It looks like you are very busy learning at home. I have a ukulele at home and want to learn how to play it. Maybe you could give me lessons Natania. I have a bear in our window at home and I have enjoyed looking for bears when I go for walks in my neighbourhood. Keep up the great work girls!

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
