James' learning work on Tuesday 21st April

Check out some of the amazing work James did today!
As you can see below James worked on his Maths. He practised learning before and after numbers of any number to 100 and skip counting backwards in 5s from 100. He also worked on the Maths Buddy program.

James then worked on his writing and create an Anzac poster. Fantastic work, James! So good to see you work hard!

  1. Still working hard on that maths James, great work! I love your beautiful Poppy it is lovely and nice and bright red too! It looks like you've worked very hard on your writing. I wish covid would go away too so we could all go back to school. Camping and fishing sound like fun, what are your favourite parts about camping and fishing?

  2. What awesome work James. I think some people are going to put poppies in their windows. I saw lots of Easter eggs in windows of houses in my neighbourhood during Easter. I know lots of children are enjoying Maths Buddy. Keep up the great work James.

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
