Kelsea's Learning

Have a look at the learning Kelsea's been doing.
Kelsea wrote a story after watching Mrs Abernethy. She wants to know how much water the birds drink a day. The photo on the right shows Kelsea doing the Crab Walk and the video underneath shows how she did the flog jumping. The last video shows her retelling the story "Two of Everything".  Thanks for sharing and great work, Kelsea.

  1. I have to say I miss your laugh so it was so nice to hear it, I love how hard you've been working on all of your learning! I love how I can see that you were editing and checking your story and then rewriting the parts that you needed to, that is fantastic work! You retelling was very thorough and detailed you remembered so much. Keep up the awesome work!

  2. Hi Ms Harris thanks for the comments I will pass it on to Kelsea. Yes she enjoys her home school learning and loves watching the teacher's video to start her day. Yesterday out of the blue she came in the kitchen to see me and said "Mum I miss Miss Harris, especially when she is being silly".... so there you go, the feeling is mutual, Kelsea miss you too!

Your retelling is great you include so much detail, you should be really proud. What else have you been doing?

  5. Hi Kelsea .... well, I'm still smiling because watching your crab walk and frog jumping lets me see how much fun you're having in your family bubble. And how fit you are. What else do you like doing to keep fit?

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
