MJ's Friday Learning

Another day full of fun for Malaefou Junior! He did the listening activity to put everything in the right place and added his own rainbow flare to the picture too. Then he did his counting using the number 100. He counted in 10s to 100, did some creative art and learned how to say 100 in 5 different languages! You can check out his video to learn how! He also retold Hemi's pot by acting it out, looking at his photos and videos made me smile so much, I hope it makes you smile too!

My friend Amanda from the university would love to see this book acted out when we return to school. I have been super impressed with all the learning you have been doing in your bubble. I am looking forward to you teaching me how to count like this when we can see each other. Thanks so much for watching our daily videos and completing the activities. I can't wait to see what you get up to this week!

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
