Olivia and Christopher get creative!

Olivia and Christopher have been busy in their bubble, they have been doing lots of activities on Maths Buddy and Sunshine Classics. They also asked their mum to help them make a shop. They had so much fun with their DIY project and they are loving playing shopping games with fake money where they can also practise their maths skills. This is an amazing creation team Chang, you should be really proud of it. I hope you have lots of fun using it!

  1. This is awesome, what a great shop you made! I love how you decorated it, it must have taken a long time to make it look that good! There is so much learning in what you have done yet I am sure that you didn't realise how much learning you did because it was so much fun! I wonder what you were selling at your shop? Great work Olivia and Christopher, and Mum too :-)

  2. This looks like so much fun. It must have taken a long time to make. I wonder if you will make it different things like a bakery or fruit and veg shop next week. Maybe you could make a phone so you don't need to borrow Dad's phone. I remember making a stove from a cardboard box when I was about your age. You have a talented Mum!

  4. Wow! I love your shop, Olivia and Christopher. It is a very cool looking shop with the pop-out drawer and till. I like how you decorated the outside of the shop as well. It must have taken a long time to build. It looks like you can have fun all day long at your shop. What do you sell the most?

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
