Carter's Awesome Bubble Picture

Carter really thought about his bubble picture as they are in a bubble with his Nanny and Uncle too. I like the way you thought about the picture and were able to explain it. I also love how you drew yourself lifting weights like you were in our zoom yesterday!

  1. Wow Carter you are really awesome at drawing houses and people. Thanks for joining our Zoom catch ups. It is nice seeing what you've been getting up too and how big your muscles are getting :-)

  3. I love your drawing of the houses, Carter. My favourite one is the one on the top with lots of windows and four people. I like the way you drew a person who is looking out of the window. Awesome, Carter!

  4. What an artist! I noticed it is sunny where you were drawing and I could see shadows. Maybe you could put a toy beside some paper and draw the outline of the shadow - it's heaps of fun. If you do, please share, I love to see the work you are doing in your bubble.

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
