Rayeed's Home Learning

Rayeed has been super busy during his home learning time. He has joined in our zoom chats every day and always has a story to share. He's been busy making puzzles, doing maths work, working on Lego challenges and going for bike rides. It certainly looks like you've been working hard and having a good time in your bubble! Check out a few of the things he's been up to below :-)

  2. Wow you have done lots of puzzles Rayeed! I love doing puzzles too, in fact I have just taken one out to do this weekend. Its been great listening to you sharing what you've been doing to keep busy in your bubble during our zoom catch ups. I love the photo of you and your brother on your bikes all masked up, you look like superheroes.

  3. Hi Rayeed, you have been working really hard at home. Did you know that doing puzzles helps us become better problem solvers? They can also test our patience sometimes. My daughter and I like doing Wasgij puzzles, they really test our patience! Today the weather is cold, so it was a great idea to be out biking when we had sunshine yesterday:) Keep up the fantastic work.

  4. What awesome work you have been doing, Rayeed! It is so good to see you having fun playing and learning. It's amazing you can write numbers to 35 and can solve many of addition and subtraction problems. Thanks for sharing, Rayseed!

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
