Drawings from the Bubble

Today Miss Corry brought out the charcoal and we did some charcoal drawings. Miss Corry was very excited about using the charcoal and so she completed lots of beautiful drawings! Check out everyone's hard work below. We can't believe how beautiful all the drawings are! We also tried to make some nature animals :-)

    2. Yes, I can tell which are yours Miss Corry. I think you should frame and sell them at the market. You obviously have a talent for charcoal art.

  4. These will be fantastic to enter into The Festival of Flowers competition next month. Sorry Miss Corry, it's not for teachers! A friend of mine has just started selling cards and your drawings remind me of her cards. I can't wait to see what you do tomorrow:)

  5. Wow these are very cool! I generally stay away from Charcoal as i just make a huge mess. All of you have done a terrific job adding details and producing something to be proud of. These would look great framed.

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
