Geometry Geniuses

If you have been into the Junior Hub lately you would have seen our fantastic learning that we are doing during Numeracy time. We are experts at Geometry!

We have been learning all about reflection, lines of symmetry, rotation and translation.

We have learned to find lines of symmetry in shapes, pictures and even in ourselves.

We can rotate objects and pictures and translate them on paper and in real life. The best fun was rotating and translating ourselves though!

Here are some photos of our amazing learning experiences that we have taken part in during the last few weeks of Term 3. Come and visit to see our very cool reflection artwork that we have on display around the Hub.

I love the look of your Geometrical Art. The colours are lovely and I do really like symmetrical shapes and pictures. I am sure these look great in the Junior HUb. Ka mau te wehi!

  5. Hi Junior Hub, I'm Nika from St Bernadette's School. I like how you put pictures of you in action. Maybe next time you could put whose butterfly's and boots are. What was your favorite part?

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?
