Natania & Mei with their personal message for us

Bula vinaka,

A great day here at the Salele bubble. Both girls loved the zoom catch up in the morning and looking forward to the next one. Today after our sessions on math buddy and sunshine classic we had fun making puff paints using selfraising flour, salt and water and then food colouring. We made heaps of paintings but picked a couple of our favourites. Also on display are our monsters which we have been working on in the weekend.

Till the next time

  1. Wow girls I love how crafty you are being during your tome at home! What cool paintings you have done, I have heard about puffy paintings but I hadn't seen one before and I think yours look great! Was it very hard? Your monsters are fantastic too you can tell you put a lot of work into them :-)

  4. Natania and Mei .... WOW! You have blown me away with all this fantastic work you've been doing at home. Your monsters are amazing. I really like the colours you used to paint and decorate them. I also like the way you have written your own note to go with your photos! Well done girls!

  5. Hi Natania and Mei, what great fun you must have had making puff paint, creating your art and making your monsters. You were very creative in making your puff painting art. I like your monsters because they look a bit scary but at the same time friendly-looking as well. Awesome work, Natania and Mei!

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?

Kiwi Class Writing

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.
