Caelin's Outdoor Fun!

Caelin and his family definitely took advantage of the weather today and got outside to have some fun! Alyxis and Caelin were super inventive and played a game of giant soccer using their trampoline and a cage to play. Caelin even helped to mow the lawns today, that is super impressive! Somehow he also managed some time to work on things from his home learning pack too. What a very busy day, ka pai Caelin!

  2. Caelin I love the game you created with your sisters. It has been so cool to see you each day in the zoom meetings and I love how you share what you have been doing. Keep up the amazing work buddy and hopefully we see you soon :D

  3. Giant soccer looks awesome! Does it have similar rules to tradition soccer like no hands. How do you stop that enormous ball with no hands? We should get some supersized balls for PBL time.

Letter of the Week

This year we are doing phonics in our homerooms. Kiwi class looks at two letters and their matching sounds every week. Weka and Pukeko classes work together on one letter of the week. Each week we have a letter of the week wall where we display all the things we can find that begin with our letter of the week. Last week our letter was H and we had some fun having Harlin Haines wearing a hat on our h wall. Too cute not to share! This week our letter is J so get your thinking caps on Weka and Pukeko classes, what words do you know that start with J?

Reading

In the Junior Hub we've been using many different apps. We used book creator to make a book during reading time. Two groups were working on sounding out the words we get stuck on. Every time we come to a word we don't know we just have to get our mouths ready to say the first sound. The other group was hunting for high frequency words and this time it was the word 'the'.
