After we harvested our carrots we then began harvesting our potatoes too. Miss Corry then opened up her chip shop after some great helpers helped her to peel the potatoes. The chips were cooked in the air fryer and soon Miss Corry was overwhelmed by orders on her phone line!                           

 When we came back to school we noticed that a lot of things grew in our garden over the summer break. The first thing we harvested a couple of weeks ago was our carrots. We pulled and dug them out and then washed and cooked them, look at all the colours! We had to leave a few behind though as we found a caterpillar in our garden too!           

We have been having lots of fun this year since we cam back to school. Keep an eye out here to see some of what we've been up to! The first thing we have loved doing is getting back into the pool whenever we can!                    

Thank You to all our amazing helpers today. This wouldn’t have been possible without you, and what a wonderful way to explore education outside the classroom. We hope you all enjoyed it!  The children should all sleep well tonight we definitely covered some serious distance around the park on a beautiful, sunny, warm day. Hopefully, they all shared something positive and interesting from today’s excursion. Some of the highlights from Group 2 were at the first attraction two sunhats flew off into the enclosure and the children watched as the Meerkats had a great time exploring and playing with them (we did get them back). Another was meeting and feeding Harriet the Giraffe who’s Dad is Gerrald! I think the funniest one was after lunch when we were regathering and the adults called out Number 2’s line up here please (the looks on the children’s faces were hilarious!) Each group experienced a different part of the park at the same time. This meant each of the four groups saw different...

 At the end of week 2 we were lucky to have some special visitors. We had a visit from June and her robot friend Tock. Tock came with a story for us about what our planet will be like if we don't take care of it. In the story there were no more trees and plants and it looked like a very sad place to be. Then June taught us about how we can take care of the planet by dealing with our rubbish properly and reduce, reuse and recycle. We learned which bin we should put our different pieces of rubbish in too. We hope we can help take care of the planet!                 

 Back in week 1 Te Rōpū Kura Pounamu and Te Rōpū Wawata were so excited to get our brand new playground. We love being able to play on it at morning tea and lunchtimes! We decided to do an investigation in our classroom to find out what the favourite part of the playground is for the members of our classes. We were surprised to find out that the green slide was our favourite part and not the swing (though this did come a close second :-). Check out our graph below to see the results.  The children in Te Rōpū Kura Pounamu and Te Rōpū Wawata have been working so hard with their reading and writing work. They are focused and ready to learn. Check out some of the awesome work of some of the fantastic students below.
